Could you be a star and help some medical students and young doctors shape the future?

Below is a questionnaire from some 3rd year Medical Students from The University of Birmingham. It would be great if you feel able to help these students by sharing your birth experiences.

The questionnaire looks at the effects of exercise before and during pregnancy on your birth experiences.

Plus an online survey from Naima Hadjazi Phd Research Student in Health Psychology at Surrey University.

And a study by Julie from St Andrews University with a chance to Win a £50 Mothercare Voucher!

By taking part in these kind of surveys, you are helping to shape the future!

Regards from Janine @newmother.co.uk

Hi

We are a group of medical students from the University of Birmingham conducting a study to look at the effects of exercise before and during pregnancy on birth experience and we would like to invite those who have given birth in the last six months to take part by completing our online questionnaire:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/new_mum_health_questionnaire

The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete. All responses will be completely anonymous and we won't ask for any information that would allow us to identify anyone who takes part.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like any further information about this study.

Thank you

Participants needed for an online survey
·         Have you given birth in the previous 12 months by vaginal delivery, without epidural or pethidine?
·         Are you between 18-45 years old and of any ethnicity?
If so, you are invited to participate in a research project on the influence of crosscultural variations on pain perception and communication within postnatal childbirth 0-12 months.
YOU are needed for an online survey about the memory of your childbirth experiences and the cross-cultural differences in the language used to describe pain.
The study has been given a favourable ethical opinion by the University of Surrey Research Ethics Committee.

Communication After Birth Questionnaire- opportunity to win £50 Mothercare voucher

Hello, my name is Julie McLellan and I am a Health Psychology student from St Andrews University. I am currently undertaking my Masters thesis which is investigating first time mothers’ communication with health professionals during the postnatal period.

I am looking for first time mothers who have given birth naturally (i.e. not via caesarean section) within the previous 12 months to one baby to complete a short questionnaire investigating aspects of the communication experienced with health professionals. Please note that I am looking only for mothers who gave birth in the UK after 37 weeks gestation.

Anyone who takes part has the option to be entered into a free prize draw for a chance to win a £50 Mothercare voucher.

If you are interested the questionnaire and further details of the study are provided at the link below:

" Are you interested in infant sleep?
Are you a first time mother? Do you have a child aged between 6 and 36 months? We are currently carrying out research to learn more about what methods mothers recommend to manage common infant sleep difficulties. We are also interested in mother’s thoughts about the reasons why infants may have difficulties sleeping at times. If you are interested in learning more about this research and completing a short questionnaire please click on this link:
