Watoto Wa Baraka manages an orphanage north of Nairobi, near a town called Makuyu. Here we house the neediest orphans and provide them with basic physical, social and spiritual care. Orphans receive regular meals, attend school and receive care
Most of our volunteer programs are based from the orphanage and involve work such as construction, childcare, fieldwork and teaching.
Sponsor A Child An orphan's life can be given new direction for as little as $19 a month. You can choose to sponsor an orphan of a particular age and gender or we can select one for you.This small donation will provide a child with shelter, food, schooling, clothing and medical care, for an entire 30 days.
As a sponsor, you will be provided with regular updates of how your money has been used, the progress of your orphan and the organisation.
The volunteer program enables you to experience life in East Africa and participate in the many programs that we run. You will have the opportunity to try different roles and programs, dependent on your interests and skills. Our volunteers come from all over the world.
If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.
As a non-profit organization, all our programs are funded through donations. The orphans in our care rely entirely on your support.
